The matrix is a fascinating world with the movie’s iconic red and blue pill scene. This metaphor is a popular cultural metaphor today. I enjoyed the matrix but maybe not as much as I would of if I wasn’t sick while watching.
The main issues I felt were trying to figure out the world and getting lost while watching. I think if I rewatched it, the movie would get better. It did have me excited to watch the sequel. The biggest thing I enjoy about worlds I learning their rules and how they work. The matrix has a fascinating world where the machines take over and use humans as batteries for their existence. It does bring up questions, what is more, real the simulated world or the real world?
In addition to all the action scenes, the real treat of the matrix is the world. I viewed it probably more negatively than I would of if I wasn’t sick due to getting lost in some of those concepts. A second viewing would be in order. I left it wanting to continue learning about the world and having a better appreciation for the cultural significance of its iconic metaphors.
