Spiderman No Way Home Review

Spoilers Ahead

Spiderman no way home is a movie filled with easter eggs. The film packs a lot of characters and callbacks in it, which primarily works. Even with all the callback villains, the action felt that it could have been more.

The main issue I had with the movie was the idea of Peter trying to “save” these villains before sending them back. The idea of them hanging out in Happy apartment didn’t work for me. The Goblin going back to being bad was predictable. I understand Spiderman always tries to save everyone; this seemed too much of a stretch.

Even so, having Doc Oc, Electro, Lizard, Sandman, and Green Goblin all come back and reprise their roles was a real treat. Seeing all the villains interact with each other and all the villains were the closest thing we have had to a sinister six on the big screen.

With the villains getting pulled into this universe, we also had Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their spiderman roles. Seeing all the Spidermen working together was a real treat, and having them interact together. I especially enjoyed seeing them talk about the differences they had in their universes. They also had some enjoyable action scenes together.

Lastly, it was great seeing Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock. Since my first Daredevil exposure was the animated series, which had him as Peter’s lawyer, it was a nostalgic callback for me. I got goosebumps seeing Matt Murdock giving Peter Parker legal advice. The other emotional scene that got to me was Aunt May’s death. Heartbreaking to see Peter losing his aunt once again to the Green Golbin. Norman Osborn is always Peter’s greatest threat, hoping they bring a version to the MCU.

The movie was a good Spiderman movie with a lot going on. The second time will be a good rewatch because it was so easy to miss easter eggs. It was an excellent way to reset the Spiderman story in the MCU, taking inspiration from Brand New Day. Hoping this isn’t Tom Holland’s last Spiderman movie; if it is, a great sendoff.
