All Advice is BS (to a certain point)

All the great questions are paradoxes. – Naval.

All advice you get is BS to a certain point, even if it is someone who has done it. It will always factor your current skill levels or life situations. Daily improvement and self-learning look to me to be one of the few universal advice (remember this is from my case). Someone may say learn sales; someone may say learn to code; it all depends on the individual situation and your strengths. Some financial independence books say, “don’t get a job.” Some say you need to own your own business. It’s really about looking for what you want with your life and being resilient if life tosses challenges.

So what if you lose your job? Be ready with strong relationships in your area. Don’t like it or are an introvert try to find a universal skill like coding, sales, engineering, technical accounting, adaptability, willingness to learn. These types of skills will always give you flexibility in the marketplace. Create savings. This gives you flexibility in the market. Hate your job, or feel you’re not gaining any growth? Work to find a different job that lets you work remotely or frees up bandwidth. Find skills that that job would want to hire.

Work to include learning into your commute. It’s incredible how much you can learn by turning your car into an audiobook or podcast haven. There is so much you can do to help yourself out of your situation. Life isn’t fair, but you can work to put the odds in your favor. It’s not about if you’re an entrepreneur vs. a job person. It’s about what you want.

I will say that I have a huge blind spot when it comes to raising kids under strict financial conditions. I don’t know what it’s like to provide for your kids without any certainty with financial backing. I don’t want to pretend I do. The great thing about the internet is if you have a particular situation, you can 99.9% find someone in a similar situation that is in a position that you want to go too. Talk to them and ask how they got to it. Whether its a higher paying job, better-paying benefits, more time with kids, etc. No one will have all the answers for your life, not your parents, friends, coworker, or anyone. What you do with your life is up to you and for you to self reflect on.

You always have to remember when reading advice, it is dependent on the conditions of the day. They were brought up in a certain environment.
